Sonnet 18 

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? 
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath ll too short a date:
sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, 
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade 
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade, 
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st;
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So love live this, and this gives life to thee.

그대를 여름날에 비할 수 있을까요?
그대가 더 아름답고 더 화창합니다.
거친 바람은 5월의 고운 꽃봉오리를 흔들고,
여름날은 너무도 짧네요.
때로 태양은 너무 뜨겁게 내리쬐고,
그대의 금빛 얼굴은 흐려지기도 합니다.
그 어떤 아름다움도 언젠가는 그 아름다움이 스러지고, 
우연이나 자연의 변화로 고운 치장 뺏기는데
그대의 영원한 여름은 퇴색하지 않고
그대가 지닌 아름다움 또한 잃어지지 않습니다. 
죽음조차 당신이 그의 그늘 속에서 방황한다고 자랑할 수는 없어요.
불멸의 시 속에서 그대는 시간에 동화되니,
인간이 숨을 쉬고 볼 수 있는 눈이 있는 한
이 시는 영원히 살아 그대에게 생명을 줄 것입니다.
